Surface Grinding, Precision Grinding, Mattison Grinding, Blanchard Grinding & Large Grinding

DETCO has the latest in state-of-the-art precision surface grinders, both horizontal spindle (Mattison type finish) and vertical spindle (Blanchard type finish). Machinery is available for contract grinding (Surface Grinding, Precision Grinding, Mattison Grinding, Blanchard Grinding & Large Grinding) for most any type of material and size of part that requires precision surface grinding.

The main facility located in Detroit is equipped with a fifteen thousand square foot, environmentally controlled finish grinding room for unusually close tolerance work. DETCO is capable of holding machine base and way grinding flat within .001-.002” and parallel between .0005” – .001”. Specially trained craftsmen and procedures including CNC equipped machines commensurate with this type of grinding work, are maintained in this room.

Large CNC Machining

The Large CNC Machining centers at DETCO are the latest CNC models from the U.S. and around the world. DETCO is capable of close tolerance Large CNC machining of steel, cast iron and aluminum, and most any ferrous or non-ferrous metal.

In keeping with DETCO’s long-standing policy of innovative production methods, and in view of the company’s close tolerance precision surface grinding equipment, the machining portion of the business is equally important. Again, because of DETCO’s connection with the machine tool industry, DETCO’s craftsmen are trained and dedicated to perform in the same high quality, precision work environment. While the tolerances are not as close as required in the grinding area, the methods and philosophy are just as stringent. The same documented preventive maintenance (DPM) program is followed in the CNC Machining area. Regularly scheduled plant meetings are held to keep personnel informed of changes in the work and special requirement jobs.
